Why is Hockey Scoring at its Lowest Point in 40 Years?

Everyone in the "hockey world" is racking their brain for an explanation to the steady decline in scoring over the past "two decades."  The NHL has even overhauled the rule book.  The fact of the matter is that today’s players are bigger, stronger, and faster.  This leaves very little time for a hockey player with a scoring opportunity to pick their head up and find a weak spot on the tender.
